Outdoor Activity and Health in Older adults

Some research suggests exposure to nature and time spent outdoors has health benefits.   And there is strong evidence that physical activity provides health benefits.  So it is better to do both?  A recent cross-sectional study provided some evidence that it is.   Older adults with both >30 minutes of physical activiyt per day and >30 minutes of outdoor time each day had the lowest symptoms of depression, lowest fear of falling, highest self-reported functioning, and highest quality of life.  Prof David Buchner participated in this research.
